Simply put, the people appearing on Muggn were likely arrested somewhere for something. We say “likely” because we’ve seen “mugshots” of sheriff’s deputies, police dogs, etc. showing up in the mugshot databases. So maybe somebody sneaks in here that has a mugshot but wasn’t actually arrested. But for the most part, they were actually arrested.
They might have been arrested for murder, or they might have been arrested for public urination. But however it happened, they were arrested and had a mugshot taken - and their mugshot was found by the Mugmaster using publicly-available sources and deemed to be interesting.
Who, exactly, are these people? We don’t know, and we don’t care. We aren’t out to embarrass individuals; we just want to find interesting mugshot images. So you won’t find names, charges or any details of arrests here - just the image we found interesting. If somebody finds themselves on Muggn and would rather not be here, we honor requests to remove mugshots.
Were these people guilty of anything? We don’t know, but we assume that they were not, and so should you. A lot of people are arrested; many if not most of them are never convicted of the crime they are charged with. In a court of law, people are presumed innocent until proven guilty, and no guilt had been proven at the time these images were taken. The people appearing on Muggn were simply arrested for some reason and ended up with an interesting mugshot. The Mugmaster was arrested for aggravated battery when he was 14, and he would love to see that mugshot now.
